TurkStream nears completion

TurkStream’s first line is on the final stage of the commissioning process. Gazprom started filling the first of two TurkStream pipelines with gas in mid-October, and the company expects to begin commercial supplies by the end of 2019.

Once completed, the first TurkStream line with 15.75 bcm capacity will supply gas to the Turkish domestic market. At the moment Gazprom finishes the receiving terminal construction, and BOTAŞ completes works on onshore pipeline connecting TurkStream with the Turkish gas infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the second TurkStream line is also nearing completion: Gazprom and BOTAŞ are working on the onshore pipeline to supply gas to southeast Europe. The first gas supplies to Hungary via TurkStream are expected in late 2021.

The cross-countries O&G pipeline projects perspectives and pricing dynamics will be discussed at the Transportation Oil and Gas Congress (TOGC) 2020 in Milan, Italy. The major transportation companies, pipeline operators, governmental bodies and solutions providers will gather at the closed-door environment to network. TOGC 2020 also includes speaking sessions and solutions exhibition covering pipelines construction, digital transformation, ways of decarbonization, security and other trends and issues.<
